The area is also known as the Silvretta Skiregion, the cross border area comprising the Austrian resort of Ischgl and the Swiss resort of Samnaun. The majority of the 40 ski lifts (90%) and pistes are located on the Northern slopes at an altitude above the 2000 metre mark, thus guarantying a steady snowfall.
